Hart's feral colonies

Caring for Cambria’s Community Cats

HART helps care for and manage Cambria’s feral cat population through a humane approach called TNRM: Trap, Neuter, Return, and Manage. This program improves cats’ lives while helping control colony populations.

A Brief History

HART began managing feral cat colonies in Cambria in __. Our first colony was established in __ after __. It began when __, leading HART to step in and provide care through trapping, spaying and neutering, and ongoing management.  Over the years, HART has significantly reduced colony populations and improved the lives of the cats we serve through continued TNRM efforts.  Today, HART manages three feral cat colonies around Cambria: two established colonies and one new colony in development.

Colony One
Our first colony is home to six cats who enjoy the outdoor environment they know. Volunteers provide daily food and water and monitor their health, arranging veterinary care when needed.
The cats also share their surroundings peacefully with some familiar wildlife visitors, including a few raccoons and a beautiful gray fox!

Colony Two
Our second colony has gradually dwindled to just one resident. Through years of TNRM efforts, colony populations have declined, and this independent cat continues to receive regular food, fresh water, and care from HART volunteers.
