What is GivingTuesday?
GivingTuesday is a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity every year on #GivingTuesday, which falls this year on December 3rd.
Why Donate to HART on Giving Tuesday?
Every day at HART Cat Shelter, we provide love, care, and second chances to cats who need it most. From tiny kittens requiring round-the-clock bottle feeding to senior cats hoping for a soft place to land in their golden years, every cat that comes through our doors is given a chance at a better life.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, HART relies solely on the generosity of donors and grants to fund every aspect of our mission. When you give to HART, you're directly supporting the care and comfort of these deserving cats. Your donation helps us provide essential food, spay/neuter surgeries, life-saving medical care, cozy beds, enriching toys, and even the utilities that keep our shelter running.
With your help, we can continue to save lives and create a brighter future for every cat who walks through our doors. This Giving Tuesday, be a part of something extraordinary. Donate to HART and help give these cats the love and care they deserve.
Together, we can make a difference—one paw at a time. 🐾

Below are a few of the special cats HART gave a second chance to in 2024.
Boone
Every day at HART, we meet cats who need more than just a shelter—they need a hero. Boone is one of those cats.
Boone came to HART with a traumatic spine and tail injury. His injury was so severe that part of his tail had to be amputated, and he couldn’t even relieve himself on his own. It was heartbreaking to see such a loving and spirited kitten facing such big challenges.
But Boone had something that many cats in his situation don’t: heroes. HART’s dedicated medical team and foster caregivers became the heroes Boone desperately needed. Through weeks of specialized care, patience, and love, Boone began to heal. His determination matched the unwavering support of his caretakers, and now he’s able to feel when he needs to “go.” Though accidents happen, Boone’s progress has been nothing short of remarkable, and his playful, affectionate spirit has never wavered.
Today, Boone is the same loving kitten he was always meant to be—outgoing, full of energy, and happiest when he’s with his people. He loves riding on shoulders, sitting in laps, and making friends with cats and dogs alike. Yet, despite his charm, Boone has been waiting five long months for his next hero—a family willing to see past his challenges and embrace the boundless love he has to give.
HART’s mission is to ensure cats like Boone are never without hope. It’s the generosity of donors and supporters that makes stories like Boone’s possible. Your donations provide the medical care, specialized diets, and resources these less-adoptable cats need while they wait for their forever families.
This Giving Tuesday, you can be the hero Boone—and so many cats like him—are waiting for. Your gift ensures that HART can continue to rescue, heal, and love cats with medical needs, giving them the second chances they deserve.

Gideon & Knicks
In March, bonded brothers Knicks and Gideon arrived at HART under heartbreaking circumstances. Their owner, faced with a necessary move to a home where his cats were not welcome, brought them to us with a broken heart and one heartfelt plea: Please keep them together. These boys were more than just pets; they were his family. We made him a promise that day—and we kept it.
For seven months, Gideon and Knicks became part of the HART family. Volunteers doted on them, staff shared their story far and wide, and every day, we held onto the hope that their perfect family would come along. Finally, the day arrived. A family walked through our doors and fell in love—not just with Gideon or Knicks, but with both of them. They knew these brothers were meant to stay together, and their home was the happily-ever-after we’d been waiting for.
This #GivingTuesday, you can be the hero cats like Gideon and Knicks needed. Your donations make it possible for us to keep promises, to provide care and love for as long as it takes, and to never give up on any cat. Will you help us continue to create happy endings?

Evie
At HART, every cat has a story—and Evie's is one of resilience, hope, and the life-changing power of love. Evie arrived at HART in May, a tiny kitten battling the daily challenges of epilepsy. She was suffering from multiple seizures a day, each lasting up to two minutes. But thanks to the tireless dedication of HART's Medical Team, Evie’s seizures are now under control with medication.
A compassionate foster stepped up to give Evie a loving, stable home. With her foster mom’s care, Evie blossomed into a playful, sweet, and happy kitten. But when her foster mom faced health challenges of her own, the heartbreaking decision was made to seek a new foster parent for Evie—someone who could continue to provide the love and care she so deeply deserves.
And then, something amazing happened: a long-term foster hero stepped forward. Not just anyone—a foster with experience caring for cats with epilepsy. Under her experienced care, Evie is thriving, and her seizures are now rare. This incredible act of compassion and dedication has given Evie the bright future she was always meant to have.
Evie's story is more than just a single rescue—it’s a testament to what we can achieve together. It’s a reminder that for every Evie who finds her hero, there are countless others waiting for theirs. This Giving Tuesday, you can be the hero for cats like Evie.
